PM Holness Reshuffles Cabinet

Prime Minister Andrew Holness has reshuffled his Cabinet.    Among the significant changes, Robert Montague has been moved from the Ministry of Transport and Mining. He will now operate as a minister without portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation.    Audley Shaw will assume responsibility for the Transport and Mining portfolio, while Senator Aubyn Hill will lead the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce.   A new Ministry of Legal and Constitutional Affairs will be headed by former Attorney General Marlene Malahoo Forte. She will be replaced as Attorney General by Dr. Derrick McKoy , a former Contractor General and a former Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of the West Indies, Mona.   Pearnel Charles Jr will now assume the Agriculture and Fisheries Ministry.    Floyd Green, who had resigned following controversy relating to a party he attended on a no-movement day last year , has been brought back into the Cabinet as a minister without portfolio in the Office of the Prime Minister.   Robert Morgan, who had been a state minister in the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information, is now a full minister without portfolio in the Office of the Prime Minister.    Former State Minister in the Ministry of Local Government, Homer Davis, has also been upgraded to a full minister and will oversee and coordinate special projects and major developments in western parishes. His portfolio also falls under the OPM.     Those who have retained their portfolios are: Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sports Minister Olivia Grange; Education and Youth Minister Fayval Williams; Finance Minister Dr. Nigel Clarke; Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Minister Kamina Johnson Smith.   Additionally, Dr. Christopher Tufton will hold on to the health portfolio and Delroy Chuck will retain his role as Justice Minister.    Others to keep their portfolios include: Desmond McKenzie, Local Government & Rural Development; Daryl Vaz, Science, Energy & Technology; Edmund Bartlett, Tourism; and Karl Samuda, Labour & Social Security.   Dr. Horace Chang is still the Minister of National Security. However, Matthew Samuda, who served as a minister without portfolio in that ministry, has been shifted to the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation.
